Ian Day

Hi. I was born at Kedron in Brisbane on the 31st of August 1939. I went to the Kedron State School.

Upon leaving school I worked as an Assistant Projectionist at The Imperial Theatre at Lutwyche in Brisbane.

I spent the next 14 odd years working in various Theatres in and around Brisbane, including The Wintergarden in Brisbane City, the Eldorado at Indooroopilly and The Boondall Drive-in Theatre. From there I was moved to the Stardust Drive-in Theatre in Ayr North Queensland as Manager in 1964.

When T.V. arrived and theatres began closing all over the place, I thought a career change was in order.

In 1968 I joined M.S.S. Security Services and spent the next 35 odd years in the Security Industry, commencing as a Security Officer and holding various positions over the years including Operations Controller, Operations Manager and finally Training Manager.

I have worked in radio previously and been involved in video production and voice over work.

My hobbies include Movies, Photography, Music and Genealogy.

I joined 101 FM with my wife Margaret in 1999 and have served as Presenter of various shows and on Management as Secretary, Junior Vice President and as President.
