Peter Hope

Hi folks, I’m Pete. Just a little background so we can get to know each other.

I served in the Royal Australian Navy at the age of 19 as a Sonar Technician, tracking submarine movements in the South China Sea. I served two tours in Vietnam during the Vietnamese War back in 1969/70.

When I was discharged from the Navy I enlisted in the Queensland Fire & Rescue Service, where I was employed as a Senior Station Officer. I remained in that very rewarding profession for the next 32 years & I had the opportunity to help a lot of people in times of adversity. I am retired now but I still have the desire to give to those who can use a hand or are in trouble. So maybe that is why I enjoy bringing you some good music & a little happiness on 101 FM.

I have been a past Vice President & President of the Station as well as training many of our on air presenters. This is a great Station with fine people who enjoy sharing your company. I hope you enjoy sharing ours.
